OUR STORY

Nestled in the serene mountains of Tanay, Rizal, The Apiary Mountain Camp and Farm began in 2018 as a family farm with a vision of creating a sanctuary for nature and community. While parts of the land were thriving, others called for renewal and care. Over six years, we transformed these areas into vibrant spaces, cultivating vegetables, herbs, flowers, and native trees. We have planted over 200 Philippine native trees as part of our reforestation efforts.

Located within the Kaliwa Watershed Protected Area, we are inspired by the responsibility to protect this vital ecosystem. This commitment led us to embrace organic farming and camping as a type of accommodation, prioritizing low-impact activities and amenities that allow guests to fully connect with nature. Instead of resort-style development, we chose to create a space that celebrates the beauty of the mountains and encourages sustainable living.

Our journey has been fueled by a passion for sustainability and a deep love for the outdoors. What started as a modest family endeavor has blossomed into an oasis of natural beauty and heartfelt hospitality, offering a space where visitors from all walks of life can reconnect with nature.

Today, The Apiary is more than a home for crops and bees—it’s a sanctuary where guests can learn the art of sustainable agriculture and immerse themselves in the peaceful joys of mountain living. Whether you're seeking adventure, relaxation, or a peaceful retreat, The Apiary is your gateway to tranquility, inspiration, and connection.

Our Mission

We are dedicated to fostering a sustainable relationship with the environment and creating a space where guests can find peace, inspiration, and connection. Located in the Kaliwa Watershed Protected Area, we aim to preserve the land’s natural beauty by offering organic farming, simple camping, and nature-based activities. Whether you’re here to seek adventure, recharge, or simply escape the city, The Apiary is a place where you can feel at home.

  • Is there electricity on site?

    The Apiary is a campsite that completely relies on solar power. Power is only limited to lighting and fans. Rooms have no air conditioners, and showers have no heaters.

    There are power outlets at the front desk, but we highly recommend that you bring powerbanks for charging. It could get really cold at night so don't worry about not having air conditioners. You may, however, bring extra portable fans/ gadgets, just like how you would on a normal camping trip!

    If by any chance you see a power outlet, please DO NOT try to plug in appliances such as rice cooker, water heater, etc. It may overload the solar power system and cause an inconvenience to all guests, including yourself.

  • Is there signal and WIFI on site?

    Reception for all networks is pretty stable on site. There is also free satellite wifi at the restaurant.

  • Do you have parking spaces on site?

    Yes. Parking areas are by the restaurant/ reception and by the dome site.

  • Do you have a map of the place?

    You can view the map here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/LqVA5G6krZT5JTAo6

  • Is Apiary senior-friendly?

    While our farm is located in mountainous terrains, which means there are stairs, steep pathways and some areas that are inaccessible to wheelchairs, we do strive to accommodate all guests. Both the dome site and restaurant are accessible by car, and we can provide accommodation with parking nearby for added convenience. Please let us know if you have specific needs, and we will do our best to ensure a comfortable stay.

  • What should I bring?

    * Powerbank/ portable chargers (charging area is at the reception)

    * Sunscreen and insect repellent

    * Personal toiletries (for campers).

    * Comfortable clothes, especially if you’re engaging in any outdoor activity

    * Jacket or rain gear, it may get cold or rainy in the mountains

    * Cooking and dining provisions, if you plan to cook on site

    * Other portable camping gears and gadgets that you think will make your trip more comfortable and memorable

    * Marshmallows, if you want to roast over a campfire

    * A book, a small musical instrument, or whatever relaxes you

    * Good vibes, and a positive camping attitude!

  • What else should I expect?

    * Apiary is within a protected forest. Diverse wild animal and inspect species may be seen around. Don’t worry, they won’t bother you, if you don’t bother them!

    * Site is undergoing constant development. Crops, landscaping and farm features depend on the season. You may also find unfinished landscapes, unpaved areas and steep terrains.

    * We have neighbors! Tricycles may pass through the common road. Neighborhood is normally quiet by 9pm. Please inform one of our staff members, in case of disruptive neighbors past 9pm.
